The client will be responsible for any costs which might be incurred, either veterinary or other, as a result of any sickness, accident or damage caused to, or by, the client's pet(s), except third party liability and that any such costs or expenses will be payable on demand. No liability will be attached to the National Association of Registered Petsitters (NARP).
Clients are required to provide all necessary food and items such as bedding, grooming tools, toys, treats, poo bags etc to ensure that their pet is provided for. If, for any reason, additional supplies are required, these will be paid for on their return.
Clients must inform the petsitter if their pet has or has had any illness since making the booking. A pet with any infectious condition cannot be accepted.
For all services, except dog-walking bookings, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking and the balance required on completion. Payment by cash or cheque, made payable to The Pet Minder.
A rate of time and a half will be charged for dog-walking and daily visiting services that fall on a Sunday. Double rate will be charged for all services that fall on a bank holiday, including Bank Holiday Mondays, Good Friday, Easter Day, Easter Monday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
If clients return home early, for any reason, no reductions will be made.
If a booking is made less than 21 days prior to commencement date, full payment will be required upon booking.
If a cancellation is made less than 21 days prior to commencement date, full payment will be required (except for dog-walking bookings).
DOG WALKING BOOKINGS
Dogs will be exercised on lead at all times.
Clients are required to pay weekly in advance or leave payment ready for collection on the first day of each week. Arrangements can also be made for clients to pay monthly if this is more suitable. Clients wishing to change the payment method must do so from the first day of the following month.
Clients must give one week's notice if the dog-walking service is not required. Failing this, full payment will be required.
If, for any reason, the dog-walking service is not required for more than 3 weeks, but the service is to be retained, a half-price retainer fee will be charged after the expiry of the 3-week period.
Clients wishing to terminate the dog walking service must give 4 weeks' notice.
During extreme weather conditions, the petsitter may, at her discretion, shorten a dog-walking session to avoid any discomfort/danger to the dog(s) in her care.
HOME BOARDING OF DOGS
Clients must ensure that vaccinations are up-to-date (a certificate of proof to be seen at time of booking and to be held with dog's records during the homeboarding period). The homeboarding service will be refused if the dog's vaccinations are not up-to-date or if the vaccination certificate is not presented. Dogs must also be treated for worms and fleas prior to their stay.
Full day's rate will be charged irrespective of time of arrival or departure. Dogs must be dropped off and collected at the agreed times.
Clients must ensure that their dog wears a collar so that the petsitter's ID tag with contact telephone number can be attached to the dog whilst in her care.
Clients must declare to the petsitter any aggressive tendencies the dog may have or any destructive/behavioural problems before the contract is signed. Any damage to the petsitter's home due to destructive behaviour will be paid for upon their return.
Clients must declare to the petsitter if their dog is not housetrained or tends to have accidents in the house. Clients must keep the petsitter informed of any recent illnesses, upset tummies or any change in behaviour.
At the petsitter's discretion (ie if the petsitter thinks the dog may be destructive or if the dog is not fully toilet-trained), a dog crate may be used during short periods that the dog may have to be left unattended.
HOMEBOARDING OF SMALL CAGED ANIMALS
Rabbits must be vaccinated against Myxomatosis and Viral Haemorrhagic Disease (VHD) and a certificate presented as proof. Every precaution must be taken against flystrike. The Pet Minder will accept no responsibility for death arising from this condition.
Sawdust, straw and hay will be provided for small caged animals. Dried food and fresh vegetables must be provided by the owner.
DAILY VISITING SERVICE
Clients will not hold the petsitter liable for any injury, disappearance or death of any cat that has access outdoors, eg via a cat flap.
Clients must ensure that their cat wears a collar so that the petsitter's ID tag with contact telephone number can be attached to the cat whilst in her care.
Clients will not hold the petsitter responsible for any animal that escapes due to their negligence in failing to provide a secure environment for their pet(s) or for any friend/relative/workman making the house/garden insecure.
With regard to rabbit care, necessary precautions should be taken against flystrike, as advised by a vet, before the visiting service commences. The petsitter will not be held responsible for any death arising from this conditon.
A charge will be made for the collection/return of house keys.
